Dear Mr Nelson,
I really hope you are not "misrepresenting" who you are and what you do.
After all it is true there is no "beta" for your product as of yet....I am
just pondering.
It would be nice if I could be sure that you are the foppish but congenial
man I saw out West, as "entrenched" in your own POV, still essentially a kind
soul, or so I take the writing of Xanadu to be!
I don't feel the same about others in the hypertext community. I hope it has
nothing to do with engineering. I had a woman who is a computer engineer
tell me she is "nitcpicky" because that is what makes her good at this.
Suffice it so say that semantics and linguistics aside. My uncle is in
computing at MIT. I wonder if I should get in touch with him seriously, or
my cousin Judy (she has a Phd in Physics though, far less useful I'd think).
Language is, from the theatrical POV so much MORE TOTAL...the LINK is
sometimes a PAUSE. Does one not think of it? It is a white space which has
motion. At any rate. Good luck with your endeavor. I am muddling today as
I had an early morning conflagration I found quite unnecessary. It appears
that some people enjoy subjecting me to those. Pardon me, I am in no way
comparing you with the "overly sensitive type" or I would not have dreamed of
deeming you foppish! :) I am an ex punk chick who had a horrible car
accident and suffers difficulties so I like "colourful personalities" but NOT
when they are egotists.
I shall go back and read Xanadu, and in preparation for an article on
"Hypertext Today" (Not the Title but a working title), I will be researching
everything else and everyone else that is not HIDDEN as unfortunately a part
of a program was, from my view...this does not mean it will appear
"tommorrow" as my work since 9.11 living in NYC has been largely political,
an unfortunate turn,
Peace,
Liz Mourant
