Weekly Planning Meeting, 5/29

Highlights 5/29:

The big congratulations this week go to rick and markm. Rick 
can now create, read, and traverse documents and links, not only 
in c++, but also in scheme, the underpinning language for montage. 
In the process, he helped us by finding a bug in the server (well, 
it was sort of a "feature", but it needed to be fixed anyway :-) 
Meanwhile, markm completed the prop change mechanism in canopies, 
thus getting ahead of the power curve on the permissions system, 
which now looks like the critical path to beta. At the same time 
he did some macro-hacking, to enable us to start using inlines 
in the C++ version of the backend (which roger expects to give 
us a factor of 30 speedup; we'll see in a week or two or 
three :-)

Congratulations also go to dean and ravi. Dean has written and 
compiled a boxful of the modules that we need to write the ent 
to disk; now all they need is testing. Meanwhile ravi completed 
tree regions, in addition to finishing filters (though, ah, this 
is the second time we've finished filters :-)

A special congratulations and thanks goes to bill, who was able 
to recover the server from a nasty NFS bug that attempted to 
eat much of hill's recent work.
