Weekly Planning meeting, 10/3

Highlights 10/3:

The big congratulations this past week go to a lot of people
(the list of congratulations has been pretty long for several
weeks in a row here; are we picking up steam, folks?). Congratulations
first of all to greg, for completing the hooks into AutoCAD needed
to run fine grain links to and fro among the drawn objects; now
all we need is the link pane from the InfoFactory frontend to
hook AutoCAD across to Xanadu.

Next, congratulations go to ravi, who has amazed everyone by
implementing follow in two weeks, from a cold start! And congratulations
go to hill, for successfully executing a mark and sweep garbage
collector with a piece of the backend (already, hardly a week
after we concluded garbage collection was possible!). Bob completed
the first draft of his business plan on schedule--a first, I
think, for major Xanadu documents (his business plan is for developing
strong third party developers). Roger ported his partial frontend
to run with alpha, and completed the display model to screen
schnert. And Hugh completed the data model and the data model
to abstract model schnert (please, don't ask what a schnert is--if
you do, markm will tell you :-).

Meetings: The First Xanadu Protocol Reduction Talks occur on
Wednesday. Markm, michael, bob, ravi, discuss X++ on Tuesday.
Hugh, ravi, markm, discuss structured data protocol. Roger, hugh,
dean, discuss system independent attributes for the frontends.
Michael, hill, meet on hacking formic scripts. Markm, hill, discuss
explicit deletion of orgls & refcount deletion. Michael, markm,
dean, discuss refcounts. Dean, roger, michael, markm, discuss
sequence numbers of size 4 billion. Lars, marcs, discuss guide
emulation. Joel, marcs, review fluor presentation. Bob, markm,
discuss lunch bet incentives and extension to users. Markm, hill,
dean, discuss enclosures & infinity on Wednesday. Joel, bob, marcs,
roger, lars, autofact demo planning. Joel, marcs, discuss the
2 kinds of inclusion lists and their ramifications. Roger, markm,
discuss 88.1 libraries.
